FNDT 164 Core Visual Arts

INSTRUCTOR: Alex Phillips

Assignment: Form and Function, Paper Shoes:

In this project students were directed to create a pair of wearable shoes made primarily of paper. The project encouraged students to discover how a flimsy, planar material can be transformed to support a person in motion. They were also invited to transcend the utilitarian aspect of functional design, and consider how a pair of shoes can also be a vehicle for metaphor or a representation of an unrelated idea or thing.
